LoganLetter #68 (July 2009)
Bless be the tie that binds
our hearts in Christian love!
We are rejoicing in the
blessings of this past month. Our
people braved the rain and COLD IN JULY for a baptismal service.
Yes, cold! I have never
baptized in water as cold as I did in July.
Someone please tell Al Gore to forget the religion of environmentalism
because we are experiencing global cooling in Romania!
One of our young men, Petrica, who had received Christ last year followed
the Lord in baptism (pictured below) as well as Ioana (young girl of 12 whose
mother left her last year, but comes faithfully to church) and Claudia (the wife
of a man in our church who for years we have prayed) and Claudia’s mother (a
dear lady who was saved last month that we reported on).
Praise the Lord! The rain
and cold did not stop the witness of the saving grace of Jesus Christ in their
lives.
We also want to thank God
for the two tracts that we received in the mail, which indicated that, an 81
year old man and 23 year old man had received Christ as Saviour in the city of
Onesti (about an hour and a half north of us).
Tracts through our ministry still have legs!
This month we came face to
face with the urgency and seriousness with which we must view our ministry.
Gregori came on a Wednesday night after being spoken to by one of our men
at the train station. He was very
moved by the message and Christian concern for his life.
Being very doctrinally confused but with a seeking heart he declared, “I
will come each time the church has a service.
I will be here Sunday. As
Bro. Sutek gave him a Bible, he said that he would stay up all night to read it.
By Saturday this man could not be found.
The following week his body was found in the river with his throat cut.
His plan to be in church Sunday never came to pass.
Oh the brevity of life! Did
we do enough in this short crossing of our paths before he went out into
eternity? Did I preach my best that
night? Did our people show him as
much love as we could have? Did he
read the Bible we gave, which he had asked for with his last words to us?
May we ask ourselves these questions NOW before they are posed to us in
eternity by the Master. Everyday
your life has opportunities which will never present themselves again.
Let us not sleep in the day.
The night cometh when no man can work.
Finally brethren, please
pray that our visas will be renewed in Romania.
We are awaiting word from the government as to our application.
I have already spent the necessary $2,100 in attempt to gain the
privilege for our family to continue to live and minister in
