FURLOUGH ???
Greetings from Eastern Europe to all of our supporters during this joyous season.
We have been in Romania over 4 years now. Two churches and a printing ministry have been started. We have held numerous evangelistic meetings throughout the country, passed out hundreds of thousands of tracts, started a Bible Institute, will have graduated 5 men from the Bible Institute in a few months, seen people saved, and now miraculously have the use of a valuable piece of property within the large city of Brasov which we reported on last month. These are wonderful things that the Lord has done, and you have been a part of it.
The normal missionary family takes a one year furlough after the completion of 3 or 4 years of service. While not being against such arrangements, our family has never had this plan in mind for our ministry. Instead, I have from time to time flown back to the States to preach some conferences, report to churches, and give our family a short break of 6 weeks or so. In the last four years we have spent about four months in the USA. It is my plan to continue this pattern, if the Lord allows, without taking a year’s furlough. With all of this said, I need to report to all of you that our family is returning to the USA in January and will be going back to Romania in April because my wife is in need of surgery. Five or six years ago we found out that my wife has degenerative bone and joint disease in her feet. Back then, the doctor said that the only treatment (other than what we received at the time) was surgery. We have put this off for almost 6 years now trusting the Lord and various other treatments to take care of the problem. Now, with Cindy’s feet going totally numb at times, we have come to a breaking point. Something must be done, and Romania is not the place to do it. The doctor said that recovery can be up to 2 months. This is the primary reason for our coming to the States at this time. I knew all of you would want to pray about this for us. Cindy has never been one to complain, and that is not my desire with this news. Everyone has burdens to bear. We bear them and continue on. I did, however, want to inform you and ask for your prayers.
BY GOD’S GRACE WE WILL HOLD OUR FIRST SERVICE ON THE NEW PROPERTY IN THE CITY ON DECEMBER 28TH. There is much more to do in remodeling this gift from the Lord, and it will be Spring or Summer until all is done, but at least we will be able to begin meeting again in the city. Thanks to all who have given toward this need. Praise Jesus!
Also, if any of our supporting churches or pastors which we have not seen in a while would desire a visit or report from us, then this would be the time for that. I may need to come by myself, but I would be honoured to drop by. If you would like to schedule something with me for January through April, then please contact me via email at loganofva@aol.com or 205-453-4931 or 256-227-9317. I cannot get to you all, but it would be a joy to see many of you who we have not seen in many years. Blessings to all of you from our family.
"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7:11)
