LoganLetter #49 (December 2007)
Joyful news is brought to you this month!
MINISTRY NEWS: What a privilege to be invited and to preach at the Romanian state sponsored Transylvania University in Brasov. I preached on the Campus to about 35
students who gathered in a classroom to hear about the real meaning of Christmas. You can guess what I told them. They got a big excited dose of the gift of God, the Saviour of the world, the sacrifice for sin, eternal life, repentance, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! Pray for growth from the seed sown. They all listened very attentively and were surprisingly interested. Most were of the Orthodox faith. What an opportunity! Pray for more.
MOISUC FAMILY NEWS: I want to say a special Thank You to those who have responded about supporting Cornel and his family as national missionaries. We have had three
responses so far. Praise God! More is needed. Let us know if you have any questions about their ministry with us. The need of any mission field is national labourers.
CHURCH NEWS: Things are going as well as they ever have in our church outside the city. We now have at least five solid Romanian families with us, a good number of single adults, some college students, and many children. Attendance is staying at about 50 and the Spirit has been good. This is amazing considering our forced move from inside the city four months ago. Almost everyone in the church is involved in our outreaches to evangelize the lost. We also recently introduced a Sunday night offering as a Missionary offering for Jesus’ birthday. These people, who are poor by Western standards, sacrificially gave over $280 to another gospel outreach by Independent missionaries in Uganda, Africa. Glory! Also, in tithes and offerings our people have given the equivalent of about $1000 in four months. This is all THEIR giving. Amen! That is very good considering that the average wage here is about $400 per month for a family. How’s your giving by that standard? This giving is encouraging since it will be a necessity for this church to become autonomous in the future.
FAMILY NEWS: The children are all doing well though they are missing their grandparents (you can cry here). As you can see from the picture above, our children aren’t so little anymore. Our youngest (Lydia) just made public her profession of faith in Jesus as her personal Saviour! Benjamin and Bethany continue to learn piano, do their schoolwork, and be a part of our daily ministry. Benjamin is really growing up fast into a young man. We are blessed with precious children. Cindy is constantly cooking, cleaning, working with the gypsy kids at church, keeping the nursery at church, teaching Lydia kindergarten, supervising the other children with their studies, and somewhere in there she also attends to being my faithful wife. As for me, I just sit back and watch all this happen. No, I have plenty on my plate as well with Bible translation, Bible Institute, getting materials ready to print for the printing ministry, preaching duties in and out of church, etc. We are occupied, very content, and blessed. We are also healthy at present for which we thank the Lord. We trust that your family is blessed and that next year God will multiply His blessings on you for His own magnification and glory.
Your obedient servant for the sake of the gospel,
