LoganLetter #41 (April 2007)
We bring each of you victorious greetings through our Lord and Saviour!
COURT CASE - It is with much thankfulness that we report to you of the victory God has given us in the Romanian court of justice concerning the legality of our witness and evangelization of the gospel of the Son of God. Our lawyer conveyed two words to me - - We won! The judge ruled totally in our favor and against the gestapo (read "police" here). Daniel Gruia, our unsaved lawyer (pictured above with the good looking American guy), stated that God had blessed us. Pray with us for the salvation of this influential man. Our gospel and beliefs are very strange to him even though he has been reading some of our materials. In the beginning he had thought I was some kind of American priest. I explained myself to him briefly, and then answered his questions about why we didn’t drink booze. Since we couldn’t drink, he further inquired whether or not our beliefs prohibited us from eating any foods, especially meats. This was because he wanted to invite us to a barbeque at his home this summer. When I told him that Independent Baptists love MEAT and COFFEE he was greatly relieved. Since we have now won the defensive case, this leaves us only with the offensive case to ensure the continued freedom of evangelism in this part of the country. This second phase will take even longer time to finish, but the authorities have totally left us alone since we filed the reciprocal action against them. All is well and continues by the grace of God. Tracts go out weekly by the thousands. The Bible is publickly preached. The two churches and one Bible study continue to receive the bread of life. Thank you for helping make all of this possible.
PRINTING MINISTRY - By the good favour of God we have received another unsolicited donation toward the equipment needed for printing. It is amazing how God works. I have never heard of the pastor or church who recently has given so generously to the work of God here. Our Master is never limited by our knowledge, abilities, or contacts. Bless His name! Pray for wisdom as I am currently negotiating with a German about purchasing some used equipment so we can hurry up and begin this important to work.
POLITICS - Since all Christians should be "world" Christians (not worldly), it is good that you be kept informed of happenings in each place in which you support missionaries. Peaceable government or the lack of it does affect the ministry (I Tim.2:1-2). We have been blessed that much of Eastern Europe has been liberated from communism howbeit not from the chains of sin and bondage of the devil (this is our task). However, young democracies have many growing pains. We are in such a time in Romania right now. The USA loving president of Romania has been committed from the beginning of his surprise election to uphold the Constitution as the rule of law and stamp out corruption. His noble goals have brought about a fight. The liberal party and former communists in Parliament have teamed up and suspended him. The permanent removal or restoration of the president of Romania must now be voted on by the people. We don’t get involved in politics here since it is not the answer for spiritual liberation, BUT we do wish that you would pray that God’s will would be done so that we may continue to labour for Jesus here with good freedom.
