Rejoice with us over the work of the gospel !
This month we conducted our evangelistic meeting in the town of Sanpetru (pictured above). About 60 people came to the meeting from this area, which has a population of 3,500. As is our custom, we gave free Bibles to all those who attended (pictured below) and preached the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to them. There were Orthodox, Jehovah Witnesses, Pentecostals, “nothings”, and 7th Day Adventists in the congregation. Personal workers from our church dealt with several people during and after the invitation. A couple of people made professions of faith, and we are now following up on about 35 individuals who asked for personal visits in their homes. Four people took public transportation and came to our church in Brasov this past Sunday as a result of this meeting. Amen! Please pray as we continue to follow-up and deal with very confused people. The devil has done a masterful job to confuse so many with false religious ideas. To effectively communicate the simple truths of God’s word to people who are this confused, it takes much more than a few hours of conversation. Doctrinal errors and superstition greatly hinder the understanding of the truth. Pray that God will grant patience to us, and that He will also open hearts to the light.
We are attempting to put a gospel tract with our church brochure in every dwelling in the city of Brasov. That is a great task seeing there are 350,000 people in the city. We have always preached in the publick places and done house to house visitation, but this is a very systematic attempt to get literature out to the masses. Pray that this will be effective. We are getting close to depleting our supply of 10,000 brochures in just about 2 months time. It costs us around $800 per 10,000 pieces of full color literature. Remember this gospel effort!
By God’s grace we have had no more police encounters since last month, and it seems that the threatened fine from the authorities has never come. It was either a good bluff on their part or our mail system is broken. We have received no ticket. Praise the Lord.
Our ministry continues to print Bibles, and we are now getting requests from all around the country. We will ship these free of charge as the Lord provides. Our college ministry has started up again since school has begun. Pray for this important outreach! Remember also in prayer a young lady named Lorena. Cornel’s wife, Mari, is discipling her each week. She was raised Orthodox but has put her faith in Christ and has been coming to our church.
We appreciate your continual help for us in the work.
Very gladly spending and being spent (II Cor.12:15),
