Greetings to all in the name of the Lord! Our letter this month has lots of varied news so that all may be kept informed.
POLICE ENCOUNTER – We are having a few problems again with the police (pic above) regarding our public evangelism. This time it is with a different police department than before. Cornel and I were recently escorted to the station in the “paddie wagon” for a “discussion”. It is interesting that they are not just focusing on our open-air preaching but also on the tracts we give out. I am preaching through the book of Acts in our church and it is significant that in Acts 4 and 5, the “authorities” seek to threaten and intimidate the disciples from doing the Lord’s work. At some point we may be persecuted, but we will not be intimidated. We continue each week as usual despite this harassment with only the threat of a fine, which has not been received as of yet. Just in case someone reading this doubts our attempt at doing things legally, we have papers of authorization from the capitol and the court.
PRAY FOR OUR EVANGELISTIC BLITZ IN THE TOWN OF SANPETRU. We covet your prayers for the October 9 meeting in this town of 3,500. We previously went from house to house in this town with tracts and we will now hold a preaching and Bible distribution meeting there. I’ll report next month on this by the grace of God.
STILL WAITING ON PERMITS FOR ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION on the building that God has given us. The addition is needed for restroom facilities, a nursery, and a classroom. We have done many improvements to the building and grounds this summer. This is the final need on the property.
VICTORY WITH VISAS – After strangely being told by the head of immigration that we would only be allowed a one - year extension for our family, the Lord has evidently been working behind the scenes. The same boss unexpectedly stated in my presence on the day we submitted our final paperwork for visas that he was going to approve us for a full 5 years. He offered no explanation for the reversal of his decision, and I can think of no other reason for this but the Lord. Praise God! This will save us a lot of money in the long run and also remove other hindrances. Please pray that all will continue to go through promptly.
THE BIBLE FOUNDATIONS BOOK that I compiled many years ago was translated and printed this month into the Russian language by my good friend and fellow missionary Paul Hamilton. I never dreamed that this book would be in its 4th English printing (14,000 copies) let alone have been put into French, Mongolian, Chinese, Romanian, and Korean. Glory!!!
