"To all the saints in Christ Jesus" (Phil.1:1),

It is a blessing to write and keep you informed of God’s workings here with us in Romania. With joy we continue to spread the gospel to all who will hear. We have had one saved in our Brasov Independent Baptist Church this month and several Orthodox people have been coming to the Racos Independent Baptist Church for which we thank God. We praise the Lord that two of our supporting churches out west have given a couple thousand dollars apiece to the printing ministry here without solicitation. Amen! This is what we love to see...a burden of faith placed on us...and a burden to give on others...all done by the Spirit of God. We have a long way to go before we can purchase the first machine but rejoice in watching our God work. The Eastern European Institute of the Bible started its 3rd semester this month. We rejoice in training men for Jesus and pray for more who are willing!

The picture above represents part of the spiritual devastation that is on the way into Eastern Europe because of the incorporation of this part of the world into the European Union (EU). You who are informed know of the spiritual deadness that exists in the western European nations (Germany, England, France, etc.). By swallowing the former communist nations into their financial and political market, the EU is changing Eastern Europe. The quest for material things is now at a heightened pitch. Prices are changing. Laws are changing. The people are changing. Sadly, these changes reflect in a negative way upon the populous in regard to their openness to the gospel and the decisions they make because of the system. As of January (the entry of Romania and Bulgaria into the EU) multitudes of people here (men and women) are leaving to go work in the money countries of the west. If they can, then they leave. This is true with Christians and non-Christians. We are feeling these effects. And thus, the picture above. Please pray for Bro. Daniel. Because of finances and "the cares of this life" (Luke 21:34), he has left for Ireland. He was one of our best preachers. He was saved and baptized in our church. He had been through two semesters of Bible Institute and has always been a wonderful blessing with a great spirit and a willingness to preach until his throat bled. He has taken a way out leaving his teenager daughter, Alexandra, and the ministry which he was being trained for. We are praying God will send him back and at the same time trying to help care for his daughter who has been thrown to the wolves, for you see, his unsaved wife is in Italy. Therefore, Alexandra (also saved and baptized in our church) is living without mother or father in an Orthodox relative’s home at this time. This type of thing is heart-breaking and increasing daily. Yet before you shriek, how many sacrifice their children on the altar of materialism in America without ever leaving home? The same root problems are in every land and people. They just look more disgusting from different eyes. Please pray that all the Christians won’t leave Romania for money! There aren’t that many of them to begin with.

Gladly sacrificing the immediate on the altar of eternity,
