LoganLetter #43 (June 2007)

"THOU ART PETER"

Bro. Sutek and I never had any misconceptions about what was needed to reach this part of the world with the gospel. We knew that two Americans would not change Eastern Europe alone. God Almighty must raise up men from these countries who will lead in the cause of Christ. To this end we began the Eastern European Institute of the Bible in 2005. Immediately, Peter Horghidan (pictured above) joined us. In his class of seven, he is the only one so far to have successfully completed and passed 180 hours of intensive Bible study and ministry training. Peter’s introduction to our ministry was through the efforts of his wife Anna. Anna made a profession of faith in our 1st Mass Evangelistic Meeting in Brasov when we first arrived here. She quickly began faithfully attending our church and then brought Peter. He immediately latched on to Bible doctrine he had never known existed. Upon joining the Bible Institute he was thrown headlong into a chasm of Bible instruction that was sometimes overwhelming to him. He was taught all the major Bible doctrines, answers to all the major cultic false doctrines, Old and New Testament Survey, Local Church truths, Manuscript Evidence, Dispensational Truth, Preparation and Delivery, Bible Study Methods, and Personal Evangelism in addition to hearing continuous verse by verse preaching in our church through Jude, Habakkuk, Life of Christ, David & his psalms, and the book of Romans. Upon receiving his diploma this month he declared with almost tearful expressions of thankfulness that he was ashamed of all he had believed and had not known before he met us. Give God praise with us for a good man who had the personal character to finish his course faithfully and pray that he will live up to his potential and responsibilities as a faithful Christian man and minister for Christ. God give us more men as Peter. He is an intricate part of our church. This is your fruit.

We have also had our third baptismal service. Half-naked sinners relaxing at the river received a great witness from the singing, testifying, and baptism from our church. Johnny, another Bible Institute student, is pictured below just before his baptism. He rejected his Romanian Orthodox infant baptism and was baptized as a believer in Christ! There will be a cost to pay for this from his Orthodox family. Pray for him and his spiritual growth.

On a final note, our family is all well and fine. The children are all growing up, especially Benjamin who has passed his
mother in height at 14 years old. We covet your prayers that the Master will use all of our children for His glory. Cindy
and I celebrated 17 years of marriage this month. We continue to need his help and grace for each step we take as a family.
Still...Serving the Lord (Romans 12:11),
