Dear Prayer Partners,
Before Christmas I made a short trip back to the island to check on the work. I found that the work of God was still being continued and new faces in the services. Hazel is the man that I have left in charge while I am on furlough. He is growing by leaps and bounds. I could see how the church was learning to follow his leadership. Hazel is the prospective Pastor for that work. Please pray for him. Also while on the island we held a revival meeting at Grace. During that week we saw 1 young man make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Grace Baptist was deeply encouraged from the preaching. My heart was moved, motivated, and mended back with people on the island. My vision for St. Lucia has gotten much larger.
During the month of January we were in a Missions Conference at the Sweet Springs Baptist Church, Ardmore, AL. Heaven came down and the power of God was in every place. There were several salvation decisions along with children, teenagers and adults surrendering to be missionaries and gospel preachers. Thank God for answered prayer to send forth labors into his harvest. We praise the Lord for this conference refreshing my family. Also during this conference the Pastor took all the missionaries out to eat for fellowship. There at the restaurant I had the joy of leading a 21-year old lady to the Lord. She was the waitress for our table. I wish I could give you the details. She was so open to the Gospel and so willing to listen. She even stopped taking our orders to listen to the salvation message. There at the table she trusted Christ as her Savior. Tears were flowing down her face like a river. After she got saved she said; “No one has ever told me about being saved before.” Her life was in pieces but she met the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. UPDATE ABOUT THE WAITRESS!! The following Sunday morning after the conference the waitress brought her fiancé to church and her 10 year old niece. Both of them walked the aisle and got saved.
Please pray as we travel on the road during our furlough. We are doing a lot of travelling. In the up- coming weeks and months we will be travelling to and from places like New York and reaching as far as Washington State. Pray for our safety, health and being able to minister to the churches. It is a great privilege that the Lord has allowed us to preach His Gospel. Thank you!
P.S. Lord willing we will be returning to the field the first week of July. The second week of June I will be conducting a tent revival in Gilbert, WV the place where I grew up. Please pray that God will provide a gospel tent for this meeting. I am looking for a tent to rent. Please pray.
