Brother Bear's Testimony

I was raised in a musician’s home. Both my parents were musicians and I also was born with musical ability and began to show this at a very young age.

At age seven my parents began taking me to sing with them in the night clubs. This went on until my early teens when my parents then got a divorce. By this time I had already started my own band and had several through high school. My mother moved to Las Vegas and I stayed in California to finish school that never came to pass. Within a few months I also moved to Las Vegas with my mother. In the next five years that followed I played in many different bands and became hooked on drugs and a drunk. One morning after being up all night, I began to get paranoid and felt like I was losing my mind and that I had to leave, so I quit the band and left for Alabama where I was promised a job that also fell through. So I worked on the railroad for less than four dollars an hour and did not make enough to pay my bills and to support my habit and eat. So I loaded a duffle bag and started heading back to Vegas where the money was. I lived on the road for quite some time, but only made it as far as Pensacola FL. By this time I was a sure enough a bum. On January 19th 1985, I wandered into the Waterfront Rescue Mission and there I heard the Gospel preached by a Baptist preacher and fell under heavy conviction and came forward and trusted Christ as my Savior. One month later the Lord called me to preach. I began preaching on the street just a month and a half after I was saved and I have been doing this every since.
