We just
wanted to give you a quick update on how things went in the services for today.  We had 48 in attendance.  The majority came in on the van once again.  There were 5 first time visitors.  Our average attendance for the month of May was 43 and we averaged 5 first time visitors in each Sunday morning service.  We are also blessed to have a new young couple now attending regularly who seems to be very motivated.  On Satuday, we had an outing to the mall for married couples only.  For many, it was their first time ever going to a mall! The new couple went and seemed to really enjoy themselves.  They have been in every service the past 2 weeks.  Their names are Aldolfo and Erica.  Please pray for them and that they will continue to be faithful and grow in the Lord.  Both give testimonies of salvation but Adolfo was not real sure.  We really appreciate each of you praying for him.
May 27, 2007 Morning Service Todays Message:
I have been preaching a series during the month of May entitled "What does the Bible say about...?" and each week we add a different subject.  Today, I preached on what the Bible says about drinking alcohol.  We took our main text from Proverbs 20:1 and showed them from the scriptures that alcohol has no place in the life of a child of God!

We seen this morning that:
I.  Alcohol Destroys our Bodies - Proverbs 23:29-35
II. Alcohol Destroys our Minds - Genesis 9:20-26, Genesis 19:30-38 (immoral acts
comminted under the influence of alcohol.  It alters our judgment)
III. Alcohol Destroys the lives of others around us. - Joel 3:3, Proverbs 4:17
IV.Alcohol Destroys the Economy - Proverbs 21:17, Proverbs 23:21
V. Alcohol Destroys our Testimony - Deut. 21:20, Proverbs 21:1, Habakkuk 2:5
VI.Alcohol Destroys our Souls - 1 Corinthians 6:10, Gálatas 5:21 (Many will never
be saved because of being enslaved to alcohol)
The message seemed to really impact the people.  After the service two people came to me and asked me to pray personally with them for family members.  We also had two men in the service who are alcoholics.  Their names are Heiner and Claudio.  Please pray that we will see the fruits of this message.
Upcoming Events
Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church - Mission Trip 2007
June 27 - July 5, 2007
Our home church or sending church will be bringing a group of 19 people down for a week to participate in literture disribution as well as to participate in some children's Bible clubs.  Please pray for them as they prepare for this trip.  Also, please pray for us as we make the necessary preparations on this end.  Most of all, pray that God will do a tremendous work here through these efforts.  If you or your church would like to know more about making a mission trip to Costa Rica or another part of Central America, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Closing Thought:
Psalms 142:4 "I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me:  refuge failed me;  no man cared for my soul."
